Single TestDouble Tests
We simultaneously conduct both Lactate Threshold tests and VO2 Max testing on either a bike or treadmill. Results packet will include information on understanding and improving lactic threshold, boosting maximal oxygen consumption and training to achieve better performance. Athletes will also walk away with personal heart rate recommendations for optimal training sessions. We recommend triathletes complete this test twice – once for biking and once for running – on two separate days.
A traditional exercise stress test is completed on either a treadmill or a bike to assess your body’s efficiency at consuming oxygen during exercise workloads. VO2 Max testing measures cardiopulmonary fitness and gives guidelines for target heart ranges for training and race sessions. We recommend triathletes complete this test twice – once for biking and once for running – on two separate days.
This test establishes the lactate threshold through an increasing workload on either bike or treadmill. This will provide an evaluation of aerobic efficiency. You will be provided with target training heart rate ranges based on this information. We recommend triathletes complete this test twice – once for biking and once for running – on two separate days.
This 15-minute test is the gold-medal standard for assessing body fat percentage and lean body mass. This can be crucial for athletes looking to track and reduce body fat percentage for speed and endurance. Results are provided within minutes of testing.
This 15-minute test is completed in the morning, prior to eating or activity. The test utilizes a metabolic cart to measure the amount of calories you burn while doing nothing. Exercise, eating, and completing daily functions are added to your daily caloric needs when generating your personal nutritional needs. This is a great foundation for nutritional consultations. Results are available 30 minutes after the test.
Registered dieticians with specialties in sports medicine are available for half-hour nutritional consultations. The dietician will provide sports-specific suggestions on consumption before, during and after strenuous exercise, in addition to general nutritional recommendations. Lifewellness recommends completing a 3-day Food Diary prior to meeting with the dietician.
